Tool OverviewTILE technologies include a fully searchable Learning Object Repository (LOR) service, a learner preferences system, customization of the interface and the content based on the learner preferences, and an authoring tool. These technologies are designed to work together to provide customized access to flexible learning content. The TILE LOR is fully searchable and delivers accessible and personalized learning objects. This environment supports the delivery of web-based media including hypertext, various xml formats, video, animation, simulations, Java and others. Content is structured using a learning design model to maintain the coherency of the learning experience while supporting the deconstruction and re-purposing of learning content and facilitating the collaborative and cumulative authoring of assembly objects. Both the authoring tool and repository interface present this learning design framework, making it possible for the average educator to markup and metatag learning content as a byproduct of structuring a learning plan. |
